In-Clinic Consultations - A Natural Approach to Health

My Journey

I offer in-depth natural wellness teaching which has been acquired from over 40 years of practice development. In my youth I was an athlete and one day I was looking through the book shelf at home and found a lovely simple line drawing text full of yoga postures. From that point on I was hooked! I discovered Tai Chi and Qi Gong 10 years later and studied Acupuncture another 10 years further on. I was in Greece on a sailing holiday 4 years ago only to find that the Pilates teacher wanted to teach Somatic Movement. What luck! Hooked again! I immediately booked the teacher training course and now add this to my practice and teaching. The great thing about Somatic Movement is that it slots in so very well with the other movement disciplines.

I have a love of learning and am endlessly fascinated by what our bodies can do, especially when aligned with a gentle mind and full awareness.

Why One Day Courses?

How do you find out what is comfortable and what isn't, and how do you solve the puzzle that is you so that you can feel great whatever you are doing? My reply is a little of this and a little of that, along with a great deal of listening to what your own unique body and mind are telling you.

How can we listen to those signals that tell us we have been sitting in the same position for too long, eaten food that doesn't agree with our constitution, or that our exercise regime is causing a joint problem because our body is out of alignment? That’s the key word - alignment - alignment of body, intention and living. We need to evaluate the habits that no longer serve us and begin the process of choosing. I’ll help you become familiar with the tools available and show you which ones have helped me over the years.

There is no one thing that works all of the time.

We’ll use a combination of gentle tailored and guided techniques, some old and some not so much.

From stretching, breath control, meditation, slow movement, holding various postures… there is so much to explore and this is why we need more than an hour or two a week.

Weekly classes help to keep us focused and structured in our study or ourselves. Now and again it is of great benefit to participate in a longer schedule to become immersed in the therory and application of a modality. Listening and observation are a key element of each practice and longer workshops and retreat offer us time and space to awaken our innate, internal self healing.
